Who are we?
We are Costin and Simona, devoted parents and fighters, from the heart of Romania. We are blessed with two extraordinary children: Theoris, a 2-year-old girl with a smile that lights up any room, and Yustin, a 4-year-old boy, full of energy and curiosity. Our life, full of simple joys, changed suddenly when Theoris, then just a one-year-and-four-month-old toddler, was diagnosed with a rare and severe form of cancer – B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Our Fight
When we found out about Theoris’s illness, our world came to a standstill. This fight has tested our strength, faith, and hope. But, in the midst of despair, we found an unexpected source of strength – the solidarity and support of the community. It was the moment we decided to turn our pain into a spark of hope for others, by founding “Asociația Theoris”.
Our Mission
Theoris Association dedicates its efforts to alleviate the suffering in the lives of children affected by leukemia and other serious illnesses, and their families. Inspired by the fight of our courageous daughter, Theoris, we commit to supporting not just our case, but also other families facing such challenges. Having gone through this situation, we know very well what parents whose children are afflicted by illness feel, and every contribution helps us bring hope and smiles where uncertainty reigns.
God helps through people
In this tumultuous journey, we have always felt that we are not alone. Our faith in God has provided us with a spiritual refuge, an immeasurable source of strength in the face of adversity. In the darkest moments, especially when Theoris suffered a relapse during the already extremely aggressive treatment, classified as high risk, we felt the divine presence and guidance. God sent remarkable people into our path, true angels on earth, who have guided us from the moment we found out that our daughter suffers from this serious illness, directing us to one of the best hospitals for treating this form of cancer.
The doctors provided us with exceptional medical care, playing a crucial role in Theoris’s treatment and recovery, while other well-wishers bolstered us morally and spiritually. They stood by us, offering both financial support and ceaseless prayers, which brought us comfort and hope.
Now, as Theoris goes through the recovery process after the transplant, we deeply feel the divine care and protection. Every day is a reminder of our unwavering faith, and with God’s help, we can overcome any obstacle. We are grateful for every moment of calm, for every smile of our children, and for every day we spend together, seeing these as gifts of our steadfast faith.
